The 2017 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros starts Tuesday night in Los Angeles, starting off a best-of-seven series between the two teams that have proved themselves to be the best in baseball since the season began way back in April. This will be the first time since 1970 that the World Series will see two teams that won over 100 games each square off. The Dodgers amassed a 104-win regular season while the Astros won 101. It is the first time since 1988 that the Dodgers have been in the Fall Classic, while the Astros return for the first time since 2005 when they were then in the National League.

A combined 205 regular-season wins, six All-Stars each, the top run-scoring team (Houston) and the squad with the league’s second-best team ERA (Los Angeles), there’s simply no shortage of star power and few weaknesses in this World Series. The Dodgers—a powerhouse for several years now thanks to a near-limitless reserve of cash and excellent player development—are in the World Series for the first time since 1988, looking to add a seventh title to their storied franchise history.

While the network execs didn’t get the “dream match-up” between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees, they’re bound to be more than happy with the Houston Astros and their young talent, instead. Major League Baseball has released the schedule and broadcast times for the 113th World Series. This will be the 20th year that FOX will have exclusive television coverage. This is one Fall Classic that has a great chance to live up to its name. The Houston Astros will play the Los Angeles Dodgers — the first showdown of 100-win teams since the Baltimore Orioles and Cincinnati Reds met in 1970. The Astros were born in 1962 and have never won a World Series, so as recovery efforts in Houston continue after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, you know what this would mean to the city.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros will meet in the 2017 World Series. It is the 113th edition of the Fall Classic and the second time these two teams meet in the postseason. The last time was in the 1981 NL Divisional Series. L.A. won that best-of-five series 3-2. The Astros didn’t move to the American League until 2013.

The Dodgers punched their tickets on Thursday after completing a Gentlemen’s Sweep over the reigning champion Chicago Cubs. It is the first time the Dodgers are in the World Series since 1988. They’ve won the pennant 22 times, with six titles. The Astros have won the pennant twice, including once in the National League back in 2005 before they moved to the American League.

Astros vs. Yankees: ALCS Game 7 Time, Live Stream, TV Channel

Well, it all comes down to this.

The Yankees and Astros face off on Saturday night in Game 7 of the ALCS, with the winner advancing to face the Dodgers in the World Series.

The series has taken a number of different turns. Houston jumped out to a 2-0 lead with shut-down pitching performances from Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander, but the Yankees’ bats got hot back in New York. The Yankees won all three games at home to get within one win of their first World Series berth since 2009.

With Houston’s back against the wall, Justin Verlander delivered again, pitching seven shutout innings as Houston won 7-1.

Game 6, ALCS Turned on Alex Bregman’s Fifth Inning Walk

C.C. Sabathia takes the mound for New York tonight. Sabathia pitched six innings of shutout ball in Game 3 and posted a 3.69 ERA this season.

Charlie Morton gets the nod for the Astros, and he’ll need to pitch much better than he did in Game 3 if Houston is to make the World Series. In that game, Morton gave up seven earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings of work.

CC Sabathia finds himself in his second winner-take-all start of the postseason, and this time it comes against the Astros in the most back-and-forth series so far. The Yankees couldn’t put the Astros away up 3-2 on Friday, so they’ll have another crack at it on Saturday.

For the Astros, they’re coming off a win on the back of a brilliant pitching performance from Justin Verlander, and they’ll need similar work out of Charlie Morton on Saturday. The decision to bring in closer Ken Giles in Friday’s game was controversial, but manager A.J. Hinch had to ensure that Game 6 was closed before worrying about a potential Game 7.

The Yankee bats fell back asleep at Minute Maid Park, as they have all series, so this game will be a key test of their mettle. The home team has won every game of this series so far, giving the Astros a de facto edge, but in a winner-take-all game all bets are off. Girardi will strive for five-to-six innings out of Sabathia, who has been excellent this postseason, before turning the ball over to his formidable bullpen.

The winner of this game goes on to play the Dodgers in the World Series on Tuesday, so this is the culmination of an entire season for both teams involved. You can check back here for live updates during Game 7,  which starts at 8:08 p.m. ET.

Yankees vs Astros Game 7 Live Stream Online

Trades: Brock Osweiler to Cleveland, trade up in the first round for DeShaun Watson with Cleveland, trade into fourth round for Carlos Watkins with Cleveland

Draft picks expected to contribute as rookies

DeShaun Watson, Zach Cunningham, D’Onta Foreman, and Carlos Watkins will all likely see the field throughout their rookie year. Watson of course is the quarterback of the future, but look for Cunningham and Foreman to carve out big roles this season as a nickel linebacker and short yardage back, respectively. Watkins will likely see plenty of snaps as a rotational interior pass rusher behind J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney.

Biggest offseason addition

DeShaun Watson, hands down. Anytime your team adds a potential franchise quarterback, it’s automatically the biggest move of the offseason. Whether it was through free agency last year with Osweiler or through the draft this year for Watson, the Texans have been ultra-aggressive in their approach to finding a capable signal caller in the post-Matt Schaub era. Hopefully Watson will finally be the guy to end their arduous search.

Biggest storyline heading into training camp

Who will start at quarterback on opening day? Tom Savage and DeShaun Watson will both compete for the job, though Savage has the early leg up in the competition due to his experience. If Watson shows up to camp and flashes something special early, however, we may see him start sooner than anyone previously anticipated.

Under-the-radar storyline heading into training camp

When will DeAndre Hopkins and Jadeveon Clowney be signed to contract extensions? The Texans have quite a bit of free cap space at the moment with A.J. Bouye taking his talents to Jacksonville instead of staying in Houston, so presumably all of that money – 29.8 million to be exact – will be set aside to keep Hopkins and Clowney on the team long term. Both players seem optimistic about deals getting done, with Hopkins the more likely candidate to be extended this offseason, but until the ink has dried on both contracts there will still be some apprehensiveness among Texans fans about the situation.

Notable injuries heading into training camp

No star players have sustained any major injuries this offseason so far, though J.J. Watt’s recovery from last offseason’s back ailments still loom large over the organization. As long as Watt is healthy and ready to hit the ground running in August, expect the Texans to be an elite defense yet again in 2017. If he still needs more time to “get right”, however, it may be another slow start for him this September as the training staff eases him back into a full time workload.

Despite practicing indoors, the Cardinals stuck with their regular game plan, going through individual position work and various situational drills. Coach Dan Quinn said he was glad to see his team focused and motivated during their final full practice before their first preseason game at Miami on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET

Friends, let your hearts be light, for we have nearly reached the first preseason game. We can talk about the things we see on the field for weeks, and savor it like a steak dinner. Assuming you like steak. It also means we’ll be talking about the game live, breaking down the position battle implications of what we see, and praying for a zero injuries for Atlanta. Nothing new there, but it’s going to feel good to get right back into the swing of it.
